Description:

The Tec Vanlife Heavy Duty Roof Rail Kit is manufactured from a high-strength aluminum extrusion specifically engineered for 2007-on Sprinter 144" and 170" models. The rails provide a rigid and dependable mounting base suitable for roof racks, crossbars, solar panels, lighting, and other rooftop equipment commonly used in van conversions.

Installation follows a simple, direct bolt-on process. After removing the factory roof caps to expose the OEM roof holes, the supplied bolts are inserted through these openings from above. The rails are then positioned over the bolts and secured from inside the vehicle using the included washers and self-locking nuts. The entire installation can be completed using standard tools.

The kit is offered in Anodized Black and Satin Silver. Both finishes provide excellent corrosion resistance and long-term durability. For additional weather protection, urethane or butyl tape can be applied around the fasteners during installation.

FAQ:

1. Do the mounting holes already exist on the Sprinter roof, or do I need to drill new ones?

No drilling is required. Remove the factory plastic covers to access the OEM mounting holes.

2. Do I need to remove the interior ceiling panels to access the roof mounting points?

Yes. The interior ceiling panels need to be removed to access the mounting points from the inside and tighten the nuts.

3. Can this roof rail be installed by one person? How long does installation typically take?

Two people are recommended. Installation takes around 30 minutes.

4. What tools or sealants are recommended to ensure the roof rail installation is fully waterproof?

The kit includes weather-sealing strips. No additional sealant is required.

5. Can I mount solar panels, awnings, a roof deck, or other rooftop accessories on these roof rails, and will additional hardware be required?

Yes. Mounting accessories requires the appropriate brackets or hardware, which are available separately in this store.

6. Are there any installation differences between Sprinter 144" and 170" models, or between high-roof and low-roof versions?

Installation is identical across all models; only the rail length differs.
